Sundays at Christ Church
We have three Sunday services: 8:00am, 10:30am and 6:30pm. Each has a different style.
If you are coming for the first time, please introduce yourself to one of the welcome team (white badges) or a member of the staff team, as we’d love to meet you. If you have any questions the Connect Desk is always manned by someone who will try and answer your questions about anything in church life.
8:00am holy communion
The 8:00am service is a more reflective service of Holy Communion using words from the Book of Common Prayer (BCP). We meet in the chancel part of the church for this 35 minute service. There’s always an opportunity to chat over a coffee or tea afterwards.
10:30am morning service
This is our main service of the week. Most Sunday mornings, the whole church family joins together for the start of the service. After the first song and some notices the children and youth aged 3-14 leave for their own programme of activities in fun and busy groups, and the service continues with Spirit-led worship, prayer & bible-based talks aimed at being relevant to life. We aim to finish by 12 noon at the latest. There is an opportunity for all to get to know one another after the service over refreshments & we offer prayer ministry after the service.
Holy Communion is held at 10:30 am on the second Sunday of each month. This is open to all who love the Lord Jesus and have made a public profession of faith in confirmation, or adult baptism, to participate in bread and wine, but we welcome everyone to come forward for a blessing at the communion rail.
All Age Services On some Sundays the children and youth stay in church and together we participate in an all age service.
After the 10:30 am service everyone is invited to stay and chat over tea and coffee.
Prayer Ministry Members of the prayer team are available after the service to pray with you if you wish.
Recordings of all sermon/talks from the 10.30am services can be found here
6:30PM evening service
The 6:30pm service is an informal, band led opportunity with plenty of space to encounter God. We often use this to focus on deeper applied teaching from the bible on specific topics that are key to life. Again we offer prayer ministry after the service led by our prayer ministry team.
